At Ashby Primary School, student life is vibrant and engaging, creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to foster a sense of community and belonging, ensuring that each student feels valued and supported. From the moment they step through the doors, children are encouraged to explore their interests and develop their talents, whether in academics, sports, or the arts. Daily interactions among peers and teachers promote lasting friendships and a collaborative spirit that enriches the school experience.

Extracurricular activities play a vital role in shaping student life at Ashby Primary. We offer a diverse range of clubs and programs that cater to various interests, including sports teams, art clubs, and science clubs. These activities not only allow students to pursue their passions but also help build essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. We currently run a specialist program that has 5 curriculum areas for our students to explore, performing arts, visual arts, physical education, Indonesian & STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. All students have a 1 hour session weekly of each of these specialist subjects. We also offer a number of clubs during breaks and opportunities for families to engage with individual music lesson through an instrucmental music teaching contractor that comes onsite. 

Our school community comes together for events creating a sense of camaraderie and school pride that resonates throughout the year. We have a very passionate and support parents and friends team called Friends of Ashby (please refer to this page for more information – maybe the link here?)

In addition to academics and extracurriculars, Ashby Primary emphasises the importance of character development and social responsibility. Students participate in initiatives that promote our TERRI Values and environmental stewardship. Through projects and community outreach programs, children learn the value of giving back and being active, responsible citizens. This holistic approach to education ensures that our students not only excel academically but also grow into compassionate individuals ready to face the challenges of the future.
